What are the minimum system requirements for the K9 Activity Tracking System - Platinum Edition?
KATS Platinum is fully functional on any Smartphone with any operating system that has an internet browser, including iPhone, Blackberry, Android and Windows based phones. It is also fully functional on any Windows or Apple based computer, including Tablets and iPads.
Does KATS Platinum have a mobile tracking app for iPhone and Android?
Yes, the KATSTrack app brings advanced, court-ready K9 record keeping and real-time mapping directly to law enforcement handlers in the field. GPS tracking logs full canine training paths and active incident responses automatically. Handlers can log precise location details, track duration, and monitor total distance on the go, as well as recording photos of evidence during the track which are pinned at the exacty map location. During training, decoy tracks can be overlaid with the subsequent track of the K9 team and replayed on the phone or in the main KATS software in order to evaluate K9 performance.
Can agencies control permissions by handler, trainer, supervisor, commander, and system admins?
Yes, KATS Platinum has a very robust security matrix. It is pre-set when the agency registers, however it can be modified extensively by the system administrator should an agency choose to do so.
Is using KATS Platinum online secure?

This is your assurance that you are on a secure connection with encrypted communication using TLS Certificates that provide the strongest encryption available, using Starfield Technologies secure certificate authority – G2. How secure is your Server location and what protections does it offer?

Can users attach documents, photographs, video links, and veterinary records?
Yes. Further to that, training activities can be video taped directly from a link in the training activity and saved directly to the activity.
What training, onboarding and technical support are included?
We provide full support at no cost to the client to assist in onboarding. We also provide free training for any agency that requests it, normally via a Zoom call. Technical support is also free.
Can an entry be corrected while preserving the original information in the audit trail?
Absolutely. Keystroke logging maintains the original input and any changes as well as logging all log-in information, changes made, IP address and other pertinent information.
Is API Integration available to connect to my RMS System?
Yes, currently any agency, via a token set up in their KATS agency configuration screen can connect KATS Platinum to their agency RMS system. KATS can generate a token that allows IT personnel to tie the Incident side of KATS into their agency RMS. Simply put, once it is activated, anything you type into KATS whether it be your incident narrative, summary of event, persons, vehicles etc, is duplicated into your agency RMS, preventing the need for double input. The benefits of using KATS to score your activities, enter persons etc is that it can maintain K9 specific data that standard RMS systems simply don't do. By connecting KATS to the agency RMS system, they have the benefits of both worlds by inputting the information in KATS knowing they will have all the K9 related stats properly maintained and all their reporting is completed when they submit the file in KATS.
Who owns the agency data and can all data be exported when a subscription ends?
The agency the system is registered to is the sole owner of the records. Yes, records can be exported when a subscription ends, however there is no need to, as we still secure and maintain the records so the agency can continue to access their records as needed. This is important as it allows them to use the unique custom reports that KATS Platinum provides. Our policy is that regardless of whether the agency has let their subscription expire or not, they are still able to access their records and pull reports and are given the same level of support as they would have if they were still paying for it. The only thing that changes is they are unable to input new data.
What capability does the KATSTrack App provide?
The KATSTrack App provides the ability to provide highly accurate GPS tracking K9 tracking events. Our solution allows you to run a training track, then run the track with a K9 team and overlay the tracks for accuracy. It is available on Android as well as iOS systems, and the to are interoperable, allowing those who work on either format be able to send tracks to the other. Overlaid tracks can case file tracks can be uploaded to the associated file in KATS where the tracks can be replayed. There are multiple viewing format options such as standard map view, satellite view, hybrid view, and for search and rescue teams there are also elevation maps available.
