We collect real-time, precise GPS location data necessary to provide navigation, routing, and location-based services.

KATSTrack collects precise, real-time GPS location data to provide core functionality.
When Location is Collected
- Foreground: When you actively use the app's map and navigation features
- Background**: When you start a training session or incident track, the app continues to collect location data even when the app is in the background or your screen is locked
How Background Location Works
- Location tracking only occurs when you explicitly start a training or incident session
- A persistent notification is displayed while background tracking is active
- Tracking stops when you manually end the session or the app is force-closed
- You remain in control of when tracking starts and stops
Purpose of Background Tracking
- Continuous Route Recording: Ensures complete and accurate documentation of K9 training routes and incident responses without requiring you to keep the app open
- Evidence Documentation: Provides timestamped location history for professional records and reporting
- Session Completion: Allows handlers to focus on their K9 work without worrying about manually managing the tracking app
Storage and Sharing
- Location data is stored locally on your device
- Location data is included in tracking session reports if you choose to export or email them
- We do not continuously upload location data to external servers
- Location data is deleted when you delete the associated tracking session
b. User-Generated Content and Tracking Sessions
Tracking Session Data
When you create training sessions, incident tracks, or decoy activities, KATSTrack stores the following information locally on your device:
Session Information Collected
- GPS coordinates and routes (latitude/longitude points with timestamps)
- Start and end times of tracking sessions
- Session type (training, incident, decoy, overlaid)
- Handler and team information (if configured)
- Category codes and activity types
- Notes and descriptions you add
- Photos attached as evidence
- Session status and metadata
Storage
- All session data is stored locally on your device using secure device storage
- Data is organized per user account or guest profile
- Data persists until you manually delete sessions
Sharing
- Session data is only shared when you explicitly choose to export or email reports
- You control what sessions are shared and with whom
c. Device and Technical Information
Details about your device (model, OS version), unique identifiers (IDFA, IDFV), IP address, and network information.
d. Account and Profile Information
If you register within the app, we may collect your name, email address, and any other information you voluntarily provide.
e. Photos and Camera Access
Photos and Camera Data
KATSTrack accesses your device's camera and photo library for the following purposes:
- Evidence Capture: During tracking sessions, you may capture photos as evidence of training activities or incidents
- Photo Attachment: You can attach existing photos from your photo library to tracking sessions
- Storage: Photos are stored locally on your device and are associated with specific tracking sessions
- Sharing: Photos are only shared if you explicitly export or email a tracking session report. We do not automatically upload photos to external servers
- Deletion: Photos are deleted when you delete the associated tracking session from the app
f. Biometric Authentication (Face ID / Touch ID)
KATSTrack supports biometric authentication for quick and secure access to the app.
- Collection: We do not collect, store, or have access to your biometric data (fingerprints or facial recognition data)
- Processing: Biometric authentication is processed entirely by your device's operating system (iOS)
- Purpose: Used solely to verify your identity and provide convenient login to the app
- Security: Your biometric data never leaves your device and is not transmitted to our servers or any third parties
- Control**: You can enable or disable biometric authentication at any time in the app's settings
g. Usage, Diagnostic and Error Data
Information related to app interactions, crash logs, diagnostic data, and interaction timestamps.

To improve app stability and performance, KATSTrack collects diagnostic information when errors occur.

- App component and function names where errors occurred

- Anonymous session context (e.g., which screen was active)

- Personal identifiers in error logs (we anonymize user data)

How Long We Keep Your Data
Tracking Sessions:
- Retained indefinitely on your device until you manually delete them
- You can delete individual sessions at any time through the app
- Retained as long as the associated tracking session exists
- Deleted immediately when the tracking session is deleted
Account Information:
- Retained while your account is active
- Deleted within 30 days of account deletion request
Error Logs:
- Stored locally for up to 90 days
- Automatically purged after 90 days to conserve device storage
Biometric Data:
- Not collected or stored by KATSTrack (handled by iOS)
Photos
- Retained as long as the associated tracking session exists
- Deleted immediately when the tracking session is deleted
6. User Rights and Control (Including GDPR and CCPA Rights)
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights including:
- The right to access your personal data.
- The right to correct or update inaccurate or incomplete data.
- The right to delete your data.
- The right to withdraw consent.
- The right to data portability.

KATSTrack is designed for professional K9 handlers and law enforcement personnel. The app is not intended for use by children under 13 (or 16 in the EU). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. 8. International Data Transfers
If you are using the app outside of your country, your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in countries with different data protection laws. We take appropriate measures to safeguard your data during such transfers.
